File: #2411781

Aug 23, 2016

Location: Sumas Peak, Abbotsford
Area (Hectares): 7.91 ha +/-
BCGS Mapsheet: 92G020
Legal Description: That part of Section 12, Township 20, East of the Coast Meridian, New Westminster District

The applicant, John Carley, wishes to apply for an aggregate quarry investigative license in Crown Land within a mineral claim that he currently holds. The site is located beside an existing aggregate quarry on the east side of the property and is surrounded by undeveloped land on all other sides. The applicant is proposing to drill four test holes (15 meters deep by 1.5 inches wide) using a hand held gas powered drill to extract aggregate cores to determine both the quality and depth of weathering of aggregate resource. Additionally, he will conduct trail assessment work for a potential public trail and picnic use area in the future.
The applicant will access the area by foot in order to reduce impact to the site. No water or heavy trucks will be required to remove the samples.
