Barrick Gold Inc. (Barrick) is proposing to install 2 sets of nested groundwater monitoring wells (Drill Holes are about 2 inches in diameter) at 2 locations (a total of 4 wells - HC1A, HC1B, HC2A, HC2B) on what is understood to be Crown land near Hedley Creek, to the north of Hedley, as part of the Nickel Plate site characterization program. The objective of this program is to better characterize the geology, hydrogeology and water quality downgradient of the Nickel Plate TSF and open pit. The program will be carried out in combination with geochemical and geotechnical drilling programs that are scheduled to commence in May 2017. |
