Haida Tourism Limited Partnership by its General Partner Haida Enterprise Corporation has applied for an amendment to their licence of occupation for investigative purposes. This tenure is currently issued to November 22 2018. The applicant has previously been granted the authority to place a floating eco-lodge within the existing tenure boundary during the term of their licence of occupation for investigative purposes. The applicant has now applied to amend the management plan governing their licence of application. The following amendments are requested:
Installation of a barge ramp (including lock blocks) to allow for movement of persons between the floating lodge and the shore, including clearing a small area of alder saplings to facilitate the infrastructure installation
Removal of garbage and equipment from the old dry land sort
Removal of existing derelict untenured cabins
HTLP has also submitted an authorization application under Section 52 of the Forest and Range Practices Act to cut immature alder, for a heli-pad site. The approximate volume to be cleared is less than 100 cubic meters. The alder will be cut and will remain on site for either burning, or firewood purposes. If any burning is to be completed, Haida Tourism Limited Partnership will apply for a burn permit through the Ministry of Environment.
