The George Gibsons Development Ltd. is applying for a commercial water lease to front the upland George Hotel and Residences Development. The proposed water lease includes the redevelopment and expansion of the existing marina, a pier to connect the existing waterfront trail, and a restaurant on the pier. The operation of the commercial venture would be year-round.

Public comments have been received regarding the potential environmental risks associated with the proposed contaminated site remediation plan and the marina development, particularly in regards to the underlying aquifer. An updated Management Plan with further information regarding the George Gibsons Marina application, including a summary of the contaminated site remediation plan, is attached. Geotechnical reports can be found on the Town of Gibsons website at the following link:
