Location: The application area is located directly adjacent to the Northwest boundary of the Penticton Indian Reserve No. 1 and south of Canyon View Road, Summerland.

BCGS Mapsheet: 82E.052
Legal Description: Portion of Parcel A on Plan A30 Lot 27 Block B District Lot 441, Osoyoos Division of Yale District.

 

FortisBC is requesting authorization in the form of a Statutory Right of Way for an existing transmission line in the vicinity of Trout Creek. The Crown lands affected by this application are part of the former KVR Railway right of way and Trout Creek. The Kettle Valley Railway right of way was acquired by the Province in 1995 and is under Licence in this location to the Kettle Valley Railway Society for railway purposes (File 3408650). It is also noted as forming part of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail.

The transmission line under application parallels the trailrailway, to the north side of the trestle, and crosses the Trout Creek channel (aerial crossing only of the creek channel).

No new construction is planned. Work will be limited to repair and maintenance of the existing powerlines.
