Britannia Oceanfront Developments applied for an approval under the Water Sustainability Act and Land Act to install a debris net over Britannia Creek near Britannia Beach, BC.

The primary purpose of the debris net would be to capture log debris that may be mobilized during a large flood or debris flood event.

The debris net would be part of a flood mitigation strategy developed and constructed by the developer, but maintained by the Squamish Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) once constructed.

Construction of the debris net would occur outside of the wetted perimeter of the stream and follow a Environmental Mitigation Strategy
