Legal Description: Covering portion of the northwest quarter of Section 27, Township 17, Range 21, and adjacent unsurveyed Crown land, W6M, Kamloops Division Yale District (KDYD)

 

The Lower Nicola Indian Band wants to acquire Crown land to be developed as industrial property and provide lots ranging from 1 hectare to 9.5 hectares. The primary use of the Crown land portion of the industrial lands will be related to providing various services to the mining industry with a focus on Highland Valley Copper (HVC) who are committed into working with the Lower Nicola Indian Band as an anchor participant to the project. The industrial lands located 15 km from HVC would be utilized as a site for the Lower Nicola Indian Band businesses as well as accommodate other companies providing goods and services to HVC and other businesses in the area. Ownership of the acquired Crown land would remain separate from the Lower Nicola Indian Band reserve lands and would be kept in fee simple.
